| Abstract | O Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), ao longo de sua trajetória, acumulou uma infinidade de documentos produzidos e outros recebidos de várias unidades sedes e regionais registrando e compartilhando informações relevantes à execução das suas funções, constituindo-se testemunho das ações científica, acadêmica e administrativa. São acervos de valores históricos, documentais, probatórios; documentos únicos, muitas vezes já deteriorados pelo tempo e mau acondicionamento, sem receber tratamento técnico sistemático. Este artigo enfatiza os principais aspectos que foram levados em consideração na implantação da gestão documental no INPE e os desafios que o Instituto ainda precisa enfrentar para gerenciar, preservar e tornar disponível o patrimônio intelectual gerado para ser utilizado como um bem comum. ABSTRACT: The National Institute for Spatial Research (INPE) throughout its career has amassed a plethora of documents some produced in its headquarter and others received from several other regional units and sharing important information for execution of their duties, what constitute a testimony of the scientific, academic and administrative actions. They are collections of historical values and documentary evidence, unique documents often already damaged by the action of the time and poor packaging without technical routine of treatment. This article emphasizes the main aspects which were taken in consideration in the implementation of the document management at INPE and the challenges that this Institute still needs to face to manage, preserve and make available the intellectual property generated to be used as a common good. |
