| Abstract | Este trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar a relação do clima com os tipos de vegetação na região do pantanal e a variabilidade interanual da vegetação (classificada em quatro tipos funcionais de plantas) a partir de métricas de fenologia da vegetação em séries temporais do produto MODIS índice de vegetação NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) no período 2001-2010. A metodologia aplicada consiste na análise de séries temporais de vegetação utilizando funções matemáticas de ajuste do perfil sazonal para identificação e caracterização dos ciclos de crescimento das classes de vegetação. Os resultados indicam que as classes climáticas no tem relação direta com o padrão de distribuição da vegetação devido às mudanças do uso da terra principalmente das atividades agrosilvopecuárias. No período analisado, foi evidenciada a variabilidade interanual dos ciclos de crescimento da vegetação com dois ciclos menores em intervalo de 5 anos. ABSTRACT: This study aims to assess the relationship between climate and vegetation types in the Brazilian tropical wetland, known as pantanal, and to analyze the interannual variability of vegetation (classified into four functional types of plants) by the use of metrics of vegetation phenology in the MODIS-NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) time series, period of 2001-2010. We apply mathematical functions, on NDVI time series, to fit the seasonal profile of vegetation for identification and characterization of growing cycle for four vegetation types. Our results show that there is not relationship between climate and distribution of vegetation pattern due to land use change for agrosilviculture. The interannual variability of vegetation growing cycle was evident over the period of 2001-2010 with two smaller cycles in the range of 5 years. | |||
