In this region energetic particles can precipitate, contributing for the ionization of the Earths Ionosphere. In order to study the dynamics of SAMA, the SAVNET (South America Very Low Frequency Network) and SARINET (South America Riometer Network) networks were installed in the Southern Space Observatory (SSO/CRS/CCR/INPE MCT, 29.4ºS, 53.8ºW, 480 m a.s.l), São Martinho da Serra, RS, Brazil. The SAVNET network is composed by three antennas being two loop and one vertical, used for VLF wave propagation (Very Low Frequency, 3 30 kHz). The SAVNET network studies the properties of the successive reflections between the transmitter station and the receiver station through the wave guide formed by the Earths surface and the base of the Ionosphere. Thus it is possible to study the D diurnal layer and the nocturnal E layer of the Ionosphere through analyzes of the phase and amplitude of the VLF waves. The SARINET project aims to study the Ionospheres ionization due the particle precipitation in the SAMA region. The study is carried out by the analyzes of the ionospheric cosmic radio noise absorption in the 38 and 38.2 MHz range, using one channel riometer and an imaging riometer. The absorption is calculated by comparing the intensity of cosmic noise incident in the Earths surface between geomagnetic quiet periods and periods in which there is a high Ionospheres ionization. The present work has as objective to present the SAVNET and SARINET networks used at the Southern Space Observatory, and some results for one geomagnetic disturbed period using an imaging riometer and a VLF receiver. %@mirrorrepository sid.inpe.br/mtc-m19@80/2009/08.21.17.02.53 %T Study of the Ionospheric Plasma in the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly SAMA Region with Riometers and VLF Receiver at the Brazilian Southern Space Observatory %@secondarytype PRE CI %8 4-9 October %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup seeger05 %@group CRS-CCR-INPE-MCT-BR %@group DAE-CEA-INPE-MCT-BR %@group CRS-CCR-INPE-MCT-BR %3 PASI_2010_Abstract_Dimas Irion Alves.pdf %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %2 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m19/2011/01.09.03.44.18 %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %4 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m19/2011/01.09.03.44 %D 2010 %S Abstracts %A Alves, Dimas Igor, %A Muralikrishna, Polinaya, %A Schuch, Nelson Jorge, %A Moro, Juliano, %A Machado, Coelho, %C San Juan, Argentina %@area CEA
