Simpósio de Geomagnetismo do Brasil, 1. %X It is presented an overview of the activities related to Geomagnetism in development at the Solar Physics, Interplanetary Medium and Magnetospheres Laboratory, at the Southern Regional Space Research Center LSFMIM/CRS/CCR/INPEMCT, Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul RS, and at the Southern Space Observatory SSO/CRS/CCR/INPEMCT, (29,43° S, 53,82° W, 488m absl) in southern Brazil. The activities are concentrated in the continuous monitoring of geomagnetic variations in the central region of the Southest state, RS, of Brazil, under the influence of the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly SAMA and in Magnetometry with electrical circuits development for magnetometers. Since 1994 the group has been actively participating in Space Geophysics research associated to the Sun-Earth interactions with several international cooperation projects including Brazil, Japan, USA, and other countries. Recently, the LFSMIM Lab is collaborating in the development of a CubeSat scientific satellite, the Brazilian NANOSATC-BR1.
