The data were obtained from measurements accomplished by a ground UV radiometer, in the wavelength of 305, 320, 340 and 380 nm. The probabilistic behavior of the index was analyzed using the Gaussian normal distribution, applied to the calculation of the daily average and the probability to each category of the index. The highest probability of occurrence was verifi ed in the MODERATE level (65,87%), that corresponds to the level which a person with a sensitive skin takes about 20 minutes to get erythema during a sun exposure. %@versiontype publisher %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %@area GEST %K solar radiation, IUV measurement, skin cancer. %@e-mailaddress marcelo.pazos@inpe.br %@documentstage not transferred %@group %@group CRN-CCR-INPE-MCTI-GOV-BR %@issn 1809-4791 %N 1 e 2 %P 47-52 %A Silva, Fernando Moreira da, %A Silva, Francisco Raimundo da, %A Marinho, George Santos, %@secondarytype PRE PN %2 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m19/2013/01.14.13.21.17 %B MensAgitat
